Now that Karma Automotive is up and running, I was wondering if there are any plans to do an update to the 2012 Karma infotainment. Though improvement were made the last couple of years, however, the 2012 still needs a lot of updates. An example is the color scheme used on the screen. It's very difficult to tell sometimes what mode the screen is on as the background color is 'grey'. Most of screen color are grey or black. You can hardly tell what radio channel is on as the font and background color are the same.
Things like the navigation maps and inputting destination in the Nav should be made easy. The current software ask you press OK to confirm every step of the destination address input. I think the confirmation can be done once the user has completed the destination input.
Another update will be to eliminate the Boot-up Screen and having to click on the Agree botton every single time. Though there's supposed to be an heptic feedback when the agree button is pressed, you don't always feel the heptic.
Most of us who are 2012 Karma owners will pay to have this up grades done. We understand it won't be as good as the Revero, it will be great to have 2012 Karma infotainment work as good (even better) that other cars/SUV of this same model year.
Thank you for bringing this awesome car back to life, we appreciate everything Karma Automatve is doing for the 2012 Owners.
Thomson (2012 Owner)
We certainly understand your frustrations with the infotainment system in your 2012.
When we first began work on the Revero, owners like yourself provided feedback that this was one of the most frustrating aspects of owning a 2012. Because of that feedback, we spent a lot of time and resources developing a modern, powerful and intuitive system for the Revero. There have been a lot of technological improvements in the seven years since your car was made, and unfortunately, that gap was too wide for us to use the same hardware and physical components used in 2012.
The screen, electrical components, even the wiring harness used in the Revero are different than the components in your car. Because of this, there’s no way to simply swap out some hardware and upgrade a 2012 to the Revero’s touch panel.
Regarding a software upgrade, we did develop a number of software/firmware upgrades for the 2012 vehicle, but those were largely focused on outstanding vehicle issues that were left unaddressed when the other company went out of business. The current version of software, Baseline 535, is our final version of 2012 vehicle software, and is available at no cost to owners through any of our authorized service centers.
Feel free to let us know if you would like some help ensuring your vehicle is running the latest software.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I really appreciate it.
I guess I'll need to save up some $$$ to get into the new Karma Revero :)
Please feel free to let us know if we can help with that!
You may want to check with PowerSource. They have a few infotainment upgrades for the 2012 cars.
I am on the waiting list for the 3rd batch.
Hello G Morris,
Thank you so much for the info. I've seen these YouTube videos before and did send Powersource a message via FiskerBuzz, but never got any response.
Could you please do me a favor and send me their website link and or their info on where I can sign-up or purchase their software. Please feel free send it to my email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via text to 720-979-3989.
I really appreciate your help.
I ordered through Ken@pwr-source.com
I would suggest subscribing to their email list to get the most current data. They had an open house a few months ago that showed the various options and timelines associated with each option. I much prefer keeping the LCD bezeled cluster which was my swaying decision in not getting a Revero.
