We believe in striving for a better future, leading by example and spreading good Karma in our communities. This past weekend event was a rewarding experience for the entire Karma family as California Highway Patrol escorted a convoy of 80 cars, including a 2020 Karma Revero GT pre-production vehicle, from City of Industry to Pomona Regional Center for the Annual 2019 Purist Backpack Event.
The Purist Group’s Back-to-School backpack delivery day first began in 2014 as a small 50 backpack operation has grown this year to provide over 3,000 backpacks filled with pens, pencils, notebooks and more for low-income special needs children for the upcoming school year. We joined the Purist Group and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to deliver and distribute backpacks and school supplies to children served by the San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center (SGPRC).
“Education is a paramount to a better life and lifestyle, and we are proud to contribute to events like The Purist Group’s backpack event; a worthy cause that gives back to [the] community,” says John Maloney, Karma Chief Revenue Officer.
William Law, operations manager for The Purist Group, stated a total of 1,500 backpacks were handed out over the weekend, 1000 of which were donated by Karma Automotive. Additional units will be distributed to various charitable organizations across the greater LA and Orange County region in the coming weeks.
